Womens Skis
Women’s skis are generally lighter and shorter then men’s skis. The bindings for a women’s ski are generally set 2 centimeters farther forward then men’s bindings. The reason for this is a women’s concentration of mass tends to be lower around their hips, which means they tend to be “in the back seat”. Moving the ski bindings forward on the ski compensates for this. Women’s mid-centered weight distribution has allowed the manufacturers to produce a ski with a more dramatic sidecut to make it easier to get up on an edge and make a turn. Other features of women’s skis include a softened flex to aid in the ease of making a turn. These are just some of the defining factors that make a women’s ski the right fit for women skiers.
